The College of Engineering & Computer Science Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invite you and your students to attend Community College Day 2011 on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Campus Center – Room 163C - lower level.This program is a fantastic opportunity for your students and faculty to find out about the new opportunities and initiatives Engineering and Computer Science will offer in the coming years.
This spring program will have a dual format geared toward both faculty and students.Faculty from Community Colleges around the Commonwealth will have an opportunity to discuss curriculum issues that arise for transfer students with University faculty members.We will also discuss your course offering changes in these tough budget times.Students will have time to meet with faculty, students and staff.They will also have an opportunity to tour our facilities and discuss course requirements with our professors.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the program will start promptly at 9:30 a.m..The program will include a transfer student panel, departmental tours, and complementary lunch in Campus Center Auditorium.Departure from the campus will be around 2:15pm. Preliminary schedule is below.
Parking is available (for a fee) in the Campus Center Garage, which is connected to the Campus Center through an underground walkway. Campus maps and parking directions are available here.
We look forward to welcoming you and your students to the UMass Amherst campus and the many exciting opportunities that exist here for your students to discover.
